Future Parliament Programme

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be an MP or work within Parliament? Well, this is your opportunity to delve into the exciting and interesting world of politics and government by joining The Future Parliament Programme. 

This unique 2-day programme has been developed by Emma Hardy, MP for Hull West and Hessle, in partnership with Hull College and The University of Hull. Specifically designed to inspire future leaders, the programme will deliver first hand insights into the daily life of an MP and the roles of those who support within parliament.   

The programme is open to young aged between 16-18 who live within the Constituency of Hull West and Hessle. To apply for this exclusive opportunity, simply complete the application form before FRIDAY 13th MARCH.

What to Expect

The Role of an MP - Engage in insightful discussions led by Emma Hardy MP  

The Role of Speaker - Gain first hand insights into the responsibilities of different roles.


Speaking in Parliament – Learn how to deliver an argument to Parliament and how to handle the media.

Local Government – An Exclusive behind the scenes visit to The Guildhall to learn how local government offices operate and the role of the Local MP.

Oracy workshop – Work with university mentors to develop presentation and speaking skills.

Speech Day – Deliver a speech at the University of Hull and become a Graduate of the Future Parliament Programme.
